I’m fascinated by business people, so the business related shows are my favorite: Celebrity Apprentice, Shark Tank and Undercover Boss.  Sunday night I only caught about the last 10 minutes of Undercover Boss.  It was when the “boss” was revealing his identity to the employees that he had worked directly with during his assignment.

One of the employees was a single mom and from what I understand she was struggling because of the price of childcare.   The “boss” let her know that from now on their company would institute a program for her and other parents to help cover the cost of childcare.   I don’t know if it’s because I had just talked to one of my single mom friends about her same situation, but I teared up.  Another employee was going to be given a raise and opportunities to advance in her career.  Another employee had gone from homeless to having her own apartment and the “boss” offered to furnish her apartment and help further her career to the point that maybe one day she’d own her own apartment. WOW!

I sat there realizing the real reason I’m called to own my own business.  It wasn’t about me at all.  It was about God using my life to change someone else’s life.  As entrepreneurs, (business owners) we are given the great privilege of being the answer to someone else’s prayers.    Instead of being on the receiving end, we get to be the givers.  What a blessing!  It truly is more blessed to receive than to give.

One dream I have as an mompreneur is to provide on-site childcare for my employees.  What do you dream of being able to do for your employees?  If you are an employee, what perks do you wish your employer would offer you?
